WATEK's team has over 60 years of combined project experience in all aspects of water and wastewater engineering, design, construction, startup and training services. In addition, we have established an excellent history of strong partnerships and outstanding performance with several engineering firms, who provide the necessary support needed for any size project.
Dr. Movahed has over 30 years of Environmental Engineering experience in Project Management, Integrated Water Resources Management, Groundwater and Surface Contamination, Source Water Protection, Safety Management, Water and Sewer Infrastructure Development, Regulatory Compliance and Water Reuse. Prior to WATEK, as the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission’s (WSSC) Regulatory Group Leader, she was in charge of 71 technical staff with a budget of $5 million. Dr. Movahed developed the Water Reuse Regulations and was responsible for approval of Centralized and Decentralized Water Reuse projects. At WATEK, she provides engineering support for membrane project design and operations, incorporating end user perspective related to ease of operation, safety, reliability, maintenance and troubleshooting. She actively advocates Integrated Water Management with emphasis on “Fit for Purpose” and Water Reuse applications related to Membrane projects. Dr. Movahed is also as instructor at Johns Hopkins University (JHU).

Dr. Movahed has received numerous awards including the Prestigious Gordon Maskew Medal from the Water Environment Federation, and Excellence in Teaching Award from Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Movahed has also published dozens of peer-reviewed articles and has made several dozen presentations at local and national conferences for professional organizations.
